Situated on the edge of the West Highlands, Balfron is a short drive from the motorway
system, and around an hour from both Edinburgh and Glasgow airports..
West Stirlingshire is full of history, rich in opportunities and the perfect location
to get away from it all.

Arriving by car -
Balfron is just a four hour drive along the M6/M74/M80/M9 from Manchester. Join the
M6 from Leeds or Hull by starting on the M62. Coming from London? Take the M1 and join the M6 for a seven hour trip.
Once in on the M9, take the northern exit to Stirling/Crianlarich and follow the sign towards Erskine Bridge.
If coming from the North, follow the A9/M9 to the Stirling/Crianlarich exit and follow the sign towards Erskine Bridge.
Follow the A811 through Arnprior and Buchlyvie. Travellers coming through
Glasgow should take the A81 through Blanefield/Strathblane and then turn onto the A875 just after the distillery.
Arriving by rail - regular trains will take you to Stirling or Milngavie,
from where there are frequent bus services.
Arriving by air - Edinburgh and Glasgow airports are within a one-hour drive
of the area and Prestwick is is within two hours.
Although most people tour the area by car, it is also possible to do so by bus
services. There is a bus station in the village.

Arriving by sea - the main ferry terminals linking Scotland and Ireland are
Stranraer, Cairnryan and Irvine.
